Having led successful sales and marketing teams, Kari has worked on both the selling and procurement sides of the table in industries including insurance, manufacturing, technology, retail, and construction. Kari is regularly in the field with sales professionals allowing her to offer current, real-world examples and in-depth analysis to class case studies and discussion. Adding to her depth, Kari has been owner and partner in two very successful businesses allowing her to bring the C-level point of view to the classroom.

The Unity Group — Partner - Head of Sales & Marketing - Responsible for organization meeting top line revenue goals.  Provided strategic direction on complex deals within the middle market.  Regularly sat at the table to negotiate in the broker selection process.

Mackie Designs/LOUD Technologies — Director of Worldwide Marketing – With a spend budget in the tens of millions, Kari successfully negotiated the purchase of all advertising and marketing components for international product launches in the professional audio industry.

Zones Inc. — Manager Major Accounts Division – Member of negotiation team responsible for winning multi-million dollar contract with MCI for five-year computer hardware, software and service contract.

American Bankers Insurance Group/Fortis Financial/Assurant — Director of Product Development – negotiated national network of hardware and software consultants and repair centers to service clients such as, Radio Shack, Staples and CompUSA.  Negotiated internally with team of actuaries as part of development process for new consumer insurance products.

Family and Interests

Raised in both California and Alaska, Kari settled in between and calls Bellingham, WA home. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their three children and being on the water.  She is an avid boater and spends as much time as possible sailing the Puget Sound.
